"It's none of their business that
you have to learn to write.
Let them think you were born that way."
- Ernest Hemingway
Web Content
Most everyone agrees a high-ranking SEO is indispensable for the success of your website or online business. Strategic keywords & phrases are the breadcrumbs to drive flocks of traffic to your site. Nonetheless, if your pages lack the kind of panache to attract, much more keep visitors hanging around, all the hits to your website count for diddly data. The best SEO keywords can be compared to a golden key cut especially for your business front door. However, if your web surfer has key in hand, but is vacillating in the doorjamb, brilliant web content is the invitation to get him to unlock the door. Your content should entice the reader, invite him to come inside, look around…sit a spell…bookmark your site…better yet, make an inquiry, place a call, or if you are a merchant – take out that credit card and make a purchase.
SEO and excellent web content go hand in hand. Still, there is a reason why that content-related catchphrase is not "SEO is Super” or “Content is—Word Count.” That's right - Content is king! Though having said that, quality web content does count. Your website should exhibit copy writing that is informative, yet interesting, but also clear and concise. When compelling eye-catching web content is your objective, I can provide the proper text for optimal visitor staying power. My background is not sales, much more SEM/SEO, but I can integrate keywords for optimal SEO visibility. I will create the voice you need to captivate your target audience.
Business Writing
No matter what trade you work in, how you communicate with your associates or potential customers is as much an extension of your profession as the services you offer. Poorly written correspondence or documents can put a nail in the coffin of your business real fast, especially if you are an entrepreneur just starting out, promoting yourself. Even if you are the best as what you do and thriving in your chosen field, you always need to have professional representation when you communicate. An effective business letter that is well written, direct, and convincing is the initial selling point before any hands are shaken, deals are brokered, or signatures are on the dotted line.
Research
Writing for well over 20 years, I have also worked in more than my share of professional business fields. My most recent experience includes holding a position as a Research Assistant for 5+ years. Research, as in learning to write well, is an acquired skill that is developed with practice. By no means am I attempting to elevate these skills to be something phenomenally earth-shattering, but knowing where to locate the most up to date data and information is advantageous when it comes to time management. More important, utilizing the most relevant resources as they pertain to documentation is conducive to producing the best results for you.
Personal Letters
You do know what the proverbial 'they' say about first impressions, right? And, it is entirely true.
Often what is most familiar to us can be the most challenging subject to write about, whether it is talking about ourselves, or having to articulate the right words to a significant other, or someone you want to impress like a potential employer. Do you need a standout cover letter or statement of intent? You know yourself well and are confident in your abilities, but lack the voice to put it into writing. When you have the pressure to get it right the first time, allow me to be your voice.
The simplest words of expression can also be the most daunting. Do you need an elegant thank-you note, or a sensitive letter of condolence? Allow me the privilege of filling in the blanks when you find yourself at a loss for words. Other times your head can be so clouded, full of emotion that it is more than difficult to express your thoughts with clarity. If you need a formal letter of resignation, or a firm but tactful complaint letter that gets your point across with diplomacy, I can be that voice.
